Chapter 6

A boy clad in black baggy pants and a red shirt with a red-streaked black hair was running backwards while playing with a dog; he had a wide smile across his face. He stopped abruptly as he collided with someone and accidentally knocked him down. His smile slowly disappeared as he looked down on the figure on the floor. Wait. He blinked his eyes a couple of times. His eyes bulged out to its limits as he noticed another figure underneath.

Two men were on the floor, one lying on his back and the other on top of the taller one, with their faces only a few millimeters away from each other and their lips touching each other, well, ALMOST. They were wide-eyed, speechless and breathless. It’s as if the world around them completely stopped from moving; everything was in a standstill.

Kaoru could smell the lingering sweetness of Toshiya’s perfume as he stared at him absentmindedly. He was about to close his eyes and indulge himself into the sweet scent when…

“Kyaaaaaaaa~!!”  Toshiya screamed, breaking the silence as he struggled on the floor beneath Kaoru. He punched, slapped, clawed and kicked the body above him as much as he could to free himself. He continued struggling without realizing that the other had withdrew himself on top of him.

“Oi.”

Toshiya stopped his actions as his eyes fluttered open and landed on the stern guy who was already standing, looking down at him. He tried to stand up by himself, prepared for another war with Kaoru, but Kyo offered his hand. He took the blonde’s hand, quiet taken aback by the other’s courteousness. He mumbled a thank you before turning to face the purple head, ready for the battle of tongues. “Hey! Wh...” He was stunned as Kaoru reached for the collar of a boy whom he didn’t notice before.

Cold sweat started to form on the boy’s forehead but his black hair with red streaks concealed it perfectly. He felt himself being lifted slightly as Kaoru tightened his grip on his collar. This is no good. I have to get away from him. He looked around looking for something that might help him. There you are! He grinned inwardly as he spotted a frowning Toshiya. The boy looked at Toshiya intently, pleading for help.

Toshiya got the signal and immediately run to the boy’s aid. “Before you could lay a finger on him, you would have to deal with me first!”

As soon as Kaoru let go of him, the boy hid himself behind Toshiya and clutched the sides of his shirt tightly as if seeking for protection. Feeling safe, he then stuck his tongue out at Kaoru.

“You..!” Kaoru tried to grab the boy but Toshiya managed to block him.

I got an idea! The brunette grinned at the thought he had in his head and he decided to execute it immediately. He looked directly into Kaoru’s eyes, making sure that the purple head was paying attention to him. He slowly circled his arms around Toshiya’s waist, keeping an eye contact with Kaoru.

“Persistent, aren’t you?” Toshiya said as he successfully shoved the purple head’s hand off when he was about to grab the boy, oblivious to the hands around his body.

Kaoru was about to make a come back but the brunette’s next move ticked him off. His jaw dropped as the boy closed his eyes slowly in a seductive way while slightly rubbing his cheek on Toshiya’s back. His knuckles turned white as he clenched his fist while glaring at the boy; a glare enough to send electric jolts to the boy’s little body and to make him unwound his arms off Toshiya.

“Look! You scared the boy!” Toshiya started again then hit the purple head with his bag somewhere… down there.

“Owww!” Kaoru growled, hissing in pain.

“Oops. Sorry.” The taller guy leaned closer, patting the other’s shoulder hoping to ease the pain he caused. But Kaoru shoved his hands away harshly. “Hey, I said I was sorry. I didn’t intend to hit you…” he paused, “…there.” He continued hesitantly then bit his lip. Now that he was closer to the purple head, he noticed three red lines on the other’s neck.

Kaoru was busy swearing to notice Toshiya’s approaching hand. He fidgeted as the pretty boy’s hot fingers touched his neck. It took him quiet some time to realize what caused the other’s action. He moved away from Toshiya then touched his own neck and cringed as his fingers brushed over raw scars. Kaoru glared at the one who caused them.

“I’m sorry.” Toshiya bit his lip again.

Kaoru stared at the other annoyingly. “Quit it.” He said coldly. “I’m not gonna buy that sad look of yours.”

Toshiya’s mouth hanged open in shock. “I said I’m sorry. Now, if you don’t want to accept my apology, fine!” He stuck his tongue out before bolting out of Kyo’s apaato. He stopped as he walked past the door which caused the others to frown. “What are you doing here anyway?!” He said in a high tone as he turned to face Kaoru.

“I should be asking you that,” Kaoru smirked, “’cause I live here.”

The pretty boy’s eyebrows knitted and jaw dropped slightly. He turned to the blonde for an explanation but only gave him a brief nod. “And you?” He asked as he bent and leaned closer the boy in red shirt, their face in the same level.

“I… I…”  The boy stuttered.

“He’s my younger brother, Ruki.” Kyo said.

---

“What happened?” Reita asked, pointing at the scratch mark on Kaoru’s neck.

“He had a fight with a cat.” Kyo stated, helping Kaoru out of the awkward situation, but not really.
“Yeah, a pretty, hot and sexy cat!” Ruki’s voice came out of nowhere. He ran immediately as he knew he snapped Kaoru’s nerve.

Kaoru ran after the brunette. He passed through some students, not caring about their belongings that went flying as he passed them by. Ruki was almost at the entrance of the school building when he caught up with him. By the time he grabbed the back of the boy’s shirt, the boy bumped into someone.

“Toshiya-senpai!” He exclaimed as if a super hero just came to save him.

“Oh Ruki! Good morning!” Toshiya flashed the boy his ever so beautiful smile before looking at the guy behind him. “Good morning Kao.”

There goes his ever so annoying smile again. Kaoru’s eyebrows knitted at the very moment he laid eyes on Toshiya, but his face softened as he noticed the red head beside him. Kaoru turned his head to the side and Die bowed his head down right after their eyes met.

“So, is there something you need from Ruki, Kao-Kao?” Toshiya broke the uneasiness between the two; almost laughing at the name he just called the purple head.

“Stop calling me names. And remember, I still haven’t forgiven you.” Kaoru glared at the blue head before he turned his back and walked away.

---

“Did I miss something?” Die asked in a teasing manner as they walk their way to the locker room.

“Jealous?” Toshiya teased back.

“Yes, if he made it to the first base.”

“Die!!” He hit the red head with his bag as a blush crept up his cheeks. Yeah, he had developed a habit of hitting the person next to him just recently.

“Ou...” Die paused as he noticed the other’s face turned crimson. “Did I…Did I hit a button?”

“Well, almost.” Toshiya blushed even more. He then told him everything that had happened the previous night at Kyo’s flat. “And you were right; I shouldn’t have judged Kyo by his appearance. I used to think he was fierce. Sometimes he looks adorable and I just want to hug him.” he giggled at the thought, “But, the more I spend time with him, the more I realize how much of a man he is. But still, he can’t deny he’s cute!”

“Unfortunately,” The red head grinned. “he’s straight.”

“That’s not what I mean.” The pretty boy pouted deeply and elbowed Die.

“Ohayou Toshiya baby!” Miyavi came running.

“Ohayou Miyavi darling!” Toshiya had gotten used to Miyavi’s daily doze of flirting in a short span of time.

“Where are you guys heading?”

“To the locker room; to get Die’s stuff.”

“What about yours?”

“I’ve got everything I need stashed in my car.”

“You might as well stash me in your car.” Miyavi grinned. “Owww!”

“Do what I told you before I stash you in your coffin.”  Hakuei spotted Miyavi and pulled him on his ear. “I just turned my head for a second and you went missing.” The tall blonde stopped his sermon as he heard Toshiya giggle. “Sorry to interrupt you guys.” he wrapped an arm around Miyavi’s shoulder, “I’m talking him along.”

“No! Toshiya! Save me!” Miyavi struggled as he was being dragged by Hakuei but to no avail.

---

Die opened his locker and found a white envelope inside. He frowned as he flipped it over and over only to find his name written in red ink.

“What’s that?” Toshiya asked.

“No idea.” Die replied raising his shoulders. He ripped it opened and took a pink piece of paper inside. Both he and Toshiya frowned and looked at each other.

Die-senpai,

I’ve been watching you everyday. And every single day, I’ve been mesmerized by you. I just couldn’t stop looking at you.

You don’t know how much it hurts me seeing you with Toshiya-senpai. I won’t deny it, he’s gorgeous. But, I’ve decided I won’t give up without a fight!

Die and Toshiya stared at the paper. They were both speechless.

Toshiya was in awe, more shocked than the other, as if he was the one who received a love letter.
