Very well done!

Patriarchy is abuse in that it oppresses women. It's also spiritual abuse because it's not biblicaly founded. Abuse is so much more than just physical or verbal. There's no "potential" abuse in patriarchy. It actually IS abuse. Also, in the Patriarchy movement, it's not just some that rely on ma-made rules and standards. Patriarchy is all about a man-made list of rules since it's not God-ordained.

In some patriarchal families, the daughters have no right to veto their father's choice of a spouse for them.

Patriarchy means "Father rule." That's idolatry if I've ever seen it.

Oh, I hope you didn't think I was critiquing your article in any way. It's just that I've lived through this and wanted to point some stuff out. :)

Yeah, it's hard to be careful. I think I probably have some friends who think they follow the quiverful/patriarch line but don't, if you know what I mean. I wanted to be very specific about what the abuses are.

With quiverfull and patriarchy, you have to be very specific about abuses, including spiritual and emotional. In most cases, those are the two most prevalent abuses. A lot of supporters of the QF/P lifestyle (usually the parents, fathers and people making money off their "ministries") dismiss the reality and horrid devastation of spiritual and emotional abuse.
