Apparently it's legal now to copy and share video games for computers/systems that are no longer made?

Time to load up on all my old Atari computer games like the one where you play chess with laser-beam shooting unicorns.

Really? Sweet! Do you have a link to the news?

I saw it in an editorial piece on Newhouse News. I'm trying to verify the truth of the statement, but am having some difficulty, since it would have been ratified in the past week or so and apparently hasn't shown up on the copyright office site yet. Blargh. I hope it wasn't a tease.

Awesome! I too hope it is not a tease. Because that would be a big deal, and a definite reversal of the status quo. Thanks for posting about it!

I suspect it's the Copyright Modernization Act, which I found, but could not decipher what it was saying.

Is the game you're talking about Archon? There was a Nintendo version, it was cool.

You are the coolest.
And the article link reminded me of M.U.L.E. which was also a good game.
Now tell me you've played the game where you're a conquistador exploring the new world and popping the natives.

Sadly, I'm not familiar with M.U.L.E. or the conquistador game.

I did find The Orb of Zot, though.
