It's time for a mod post!
Since T'oran-Samu is officially turning one month old today, we would like to thank everyone for joining and participating in this game.
How do you like it so far? We are always open for any and all suggestions regarding plots and events so don't be shy if there is something you'd like to see. We're still a small community so things can be easily worked out with everyone. We also encourage character interaction of every kind-let's get this place active and fun ♥
As for our first actual event, T'oran-Samu will be having a Winter Festival starting soon.
Winter Festival
Starting tonight, both towns will start preparing for the Winter Festival.
In Animak, the birth of the Winter Goddess is being celebrated, the theme is snow and ice. There will be decorations much like on Christmas, with lights and stars made of different materials being hung up everywhere. As this is Animak, magic-powered things will appear.
The streets will be filled with ice statues of various kinds (animals, humanoid sculptures, etc.) that start to dance at certain times, filling the town with the feel of magic and celebration. People will be in a generally happier mood than usual, and it will start to snow immediately as the preparations begin.
Farming is reduced to keeping animals as the snow will cover all fields and make it pointless to sow anything even if you do have magic to grow. It is clearly time for a break.
From the 20th to the 27th of December, there will be parades and balls that your character can participate in. Feel free to log these or simply post about them, assuming. [Naturally, you can do backdated logs and posts if this time span is inconvenient for you due to holidays]
In Nomis, there will be no actual celebration of a "goddess" as they don't believe in any of this, but it will be a holiday time as well, preparing with decorations and setting up everything for the parades and balls.
Characters will be asked to help with decorations if they work in a store or in the library (yes, even the library will be decorated), and in Nomis, many fancy high-tech machines will be used for everyone's entertainment. This is one of the rare times Nomis uses technology for entertainment of people.
The streets will be filled with booths and stalls that sell festive items as well as food. Some of these booths might also contain a game (think of those things in amusement parks), enabling you to win little prizes such as stuffed animals or toys.
As always, there is competition between the two towns. Who has the brighter lights, the more exciting parade, the better dancers-it all counts. Your characters may feel the ridiculous tension of that competition, but they are free to go back and forth between both towns to participate in both festivals. They are essentially the same. (The only difference is that Animak's festival emphasizes celebrating a goddess while Nomis merely celebrates a break from the usual every day life)
Feel free to have your character deal with this however you see fit. Additionally, the Camorra mansion is now quiet again. For this time of the year, the lights at night will stay out and there will be no music and voices. However, the ghost at the stone memorial remains.
This entire event will last from the night of December 2nd to January 2nd. After that, decorations will be taken down again and the towns go on with their usual business.
If you have any questions, suggestions or if there is anything else you might want to note, you can do it here in the comments and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Happy winter season, and keep enjoying yourself here!
