Hello from Europe!

Paris was a whirlwind of museums and cathedrals. I had an incredible time, as I'm sure tattermuffin and her mother did as well.
We went to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre (three times), Notre Dame de Paris, St. Chappelle cathedral (which has incredible stained glass windows making up nearly all four walls, with only pillars in between), the Musee D'Orsay ( ( Read more... )

I'm so glad you enjoyed Paris. I could live in the Cluny! :) There's a place in Ghent, for your next trip, that does mustard tastings. :)

Anyway, it sounds as if you're having a lovely time -- what a whirlwind tour of Europe! :) And what a treat for you!

The first time I went to Paris with my husband, he didn't understand why it was so important that we get to the Cluny. (I'd been there previously; he'd been to Paris before, but never to the Cluny until then.) The next trip to Paris, he insisted we go to the Cluny first. :)

It's really wonderful. There are so many places I still want to go, but I'm incredibly grateful for this chance to see some of Europe. Bavaria wasn't that high on my list, but now that I've been here, if I had known more about it, it would have been!

YOu know, that occurred to me, that they might be related. However, they really don't taste anything alike, between the different breading, the lack of tonkatsu sauce, and the fact that Germans put lemon juice on it (which is quite good, actually). So although it's good, it didn't do a thing to assuage my tonkatsu craving. :)

I will upload pictures eventually, but I don't think pictures can do St. Chappelle justice. Ailsa was already in the chapel when I went in, and she said she wished she'd had the camera ready so she could have got a picture of my face when I walked in. You walk in, and you just stop short and stare, you can't help it. It's so amazing and beautiful.

Actually, I've never been to Yosemite and have been wanting to go for a long time! I have no idea what my income and such will be like, but if I can swing it, I'd love to go to Yosemite with you guys!

I hope all is well despite the weirdness. I actually had a craving for tonkatsu the other day, so I will be happy to be back in a place where I can get it! *g*

I must have missed the post that mentioned you were going to Europe. This sounds like a fabulous adventure. I am extremely jealous. And where are pictures?

There will be pictures eventually! I've taken enough of them. :) It just takes a while to get them all arranged and uploaded...
