I managed to take the day off work, so I could spend this holiday with my family before they move. My mother and my two youngest sisters were supposed to come over in the morning for gift exchanging and general family togetherness. It is now 12:17 and I've briefly spoken to my mother on the phone twice. Her current ETA is 2:00. Somehow I think it

Yeah, family-holiday fun is always a good time. For my last two major family-holiday events, both my brothers didn't show up at all, after they told me several times that they would most certainly be there (including on the day of the holiday). Blah.

Well, screw them.

family can be amazingly frustrating... but what can you do, it is family after all. I hope the rest of your day is better.
