A Night Out at the Pub
Surprisingly, Jack had insisted on a specific pub they rent out, and Ianto had stepped back and let him do so. Jack knew the owner, had been going there for years (and years and years), and so he could get the place cheap and quickly and still have the quality service that they wanted. And for an occasion like this one, quality was a must.
Because they weren't just celebrating the holidays, or the new year. They were celebrating more than that. Celebrating a coming together of Starfleet and Torchwood and friends. Friends old and new, of all different times and places, different jobs and backgrounds, but the common theme that...they'd survived the year. That they were happy and healthy and carrying on. So they rented out the top floor of a bar, and had a celebration. Because, well. Life and friendship, they were both certainly things worthy of celebration.
It wasn't quite clear who'd suggested the get-together first, but all three Torchwood members had thought it was a good idea, so they sent out invitations to everyone they could think of that was involved with this ordeal, less of a formal invitation and more of a "come over and meet the gang". And so there it was. A meeting of the gang.
Jack had arrived first, greeting the owner and checking the place out. It was small, but not too small for their little get-together, and quaint. Just the right amount of local flare for out-of-towners that would be coming and visiting. He found himself seated at the bar, on one of the stools, chatting with the barkeep, when Ianto arrived as well, greeting the pair of them and looking around himself. He was impressed with Jack's choice of venue's, and so he left Jack sitting at the bar, to keep up his chatting with the other man, while he took a seat at one of the tables and started to look over the menu of what sort of food they had available to order.
[Note: This is fairly laid-back and open-ended. Make your own thread, tag other people's threads, have a ball. [Action] or prose are both fine!
