Ianto sat at Jack's bedside, with a mobile in hand, much like he had earlier with his call to the Doctor. Only, instead of calling for help this time, he really just wanted to call to have someone to talk to. Still disoriented and generally addle-brained, he almost opened the line with a harsh word to Jim, who he was certain would call him at the most inappropriate hour possible. He recognized the number from Earth just as he was opening his mouth, so he managed to cut the sharp retort off at, "Uh-!" Rubbing his eyes, he followed up that really inarticulate noise with, "Ianto?"

"Oh, god," Ianto said, helpfully. "God, I'm sorry... Did I wake you? I can just, er. I can call you back in the morning. Or, whenever," he rambled, knowing even then that he was being silly. He wasn't one to just call out of the blue, especially not at this sort of hour, not without a reason and a good one at that, and Sulu probably knew that fact. Still, he couldn't help but apologize for himself. What could he say. It had been an incredibly long...day? Couple of days? Ianto was losing time, sitting here by Jack's bedside. All that he knew was that he hadn't slept in a while, or left, or probably even eaten properly, not since this had all started.

He took in a breath, and then couldn't figure out what to say to Sulu. 'Please come keep me company because I'm scared' sounded too forward and dumb to Ianto's head, but just calmly stating the facts was a bit too impersonal for him and the situation as well. Ianto realized that he'd been pausing for a while, and Sulu was probably waiting to hear why he'd called at such an hour.
"I... It's Jack," Ianto said, turning to look at the man in question in the bed in front of him. "He's, well... It's kind of impossible, but. He's dying and I..." Couldn't even find the words to express how lost he would be if he lost Jack.
