He'd dressed down to jeans and a tee-shirt, since he'd gotten the message that he was sort of a surprise tonight and he didn't want to give the other man a heart-attack or something. He'd even went ahead and met up with Gwen before, heading with her to the pub that she'd told Ianto to meet at. It was still maybe a tiny bit strange to be in Cardiff without Ianto keeping him company, but Gwen wasn't exactly a stranger at this point (especially since they'd been stuck together... sort of... for a virus), so it wasn't awkward in the least.
They'd only been there for a few moments before Sulu caught sight of Ianto at the door, nudging Gwen lightly and gesturing in his direction. "I sort of expected to see Jack's blood on him."

The nudge caught her attention, puling it away from a quick chat with the bartender. Sure enough, she caught sight of Ianto and smiled, chuckling.
"I tried to keep them apart today. Figured it was safer."

He smiled at them when he finally made it, looking honestly surprised. "Sulu? What...what are you doing here?" he asked. "I mean," he added quickly, "not that it's a bad thing but. I wasn't expecting..." He turned to Gwen. "Is this what you meant when you said that you had a surprise for me?" he asked, a smile slowly starting to spread across his face. Damn if it wasn't good to see the other man, especially after having been so on edge the entire day.

"I know you weren't expecting me," he said with a grin, "That would be Gwen's fault. Besides, I wanted to make sure you hadn't shot anyone, or anything." He glanced over at Gwen, "You told him I was a surprise?"
