[RL WITH GWEN AND SULU]

Ianto pulled his jacket closer to him as he walked down the street towards the pub he was supposed to meet Gwen at. He'd gone home to change, and had just thrown on whatever he could find, because it was only Gwen, and let's face it. His head wasn't into looking good. It was still reeling from the fact that Jack, like a bloody child or something, ( Read more... )

Sulu hadn't expected to be contacted at all that day, except maybe to be told that Jack was missing and Ianto was a key suspect in his disappearance, so when Gwen got a hold of him and asked if he wanted to come down for drinks with her and Ianto, it was definitely a pleasant surprise.

He'd dressed down to jeans and a tee-shirt, since he'd gotten the message that he was sort of a surprise tonight and he didn't want to give the other man a heart-attack or something. He'd even went ahead and met up with Gwen before, heading with her to the pub that she'd told Ianto to meet at. It was still maybe a tiny bit strange to be in Cardiff without Ianto keeping him company, but Gwen wasn't exactly a stranger at this point (especially since they'd been stuck together... sort of... for a virus), so it wasn't awkward in the least.

They'd only been there for a few moments before Sulu caught sight of Ianto at the door, nudging Gwen lightly and gesturing in his direction. "I sort of expected to see Jack's blood on him."

Gwen hadn't bothered to change her clothes from work, as she dressed pretty casual as it was, but don't think she hadn't taken a few moments at home to snuggle up to her honey before she touched up her make up and headed out. After finding out what Jack had done, she'd figured Ianto would want a chance to let off a little steam after the end of the day, and a little space between the two men was just what the lady had ordered. After all, she didn't want to have to lock one of them away in the Vault, now did she?

The nudge caught her attention, puling it away from a quick chat with the bartender. Sure enough, she caught sight of Ianto and smiled, chuckling.

"I tried to keep them apart today. Figured it was safer."

Ianto finally spotted Gwen. And next to her... "Sulu?" he asked aloud, trying very hard to keep his features schooled so that he wasn't standing across the room, gaping at the pair of them. As it was, he was probably too far away for either of them to have heard his question, although he figured they'd have gotten the gyst of it, anyway. He started forward, walking a bit faster than he might have, because... Well. Because Sulu was there, and he hadn't expected that at all.

He smiled at them when he finally made it, looking honestly surprised. "Sulu? What...what are you doing here?" he asked. "I mean," he added quickly, "not that it's a bad thing but. I wasn't expecting..." He turned to Gwen. "Is this what you meant when you said that you had a surprise for me?" he asked, a smile slowly starting to spread across his face. Damn if it wasn't good to see the other man, especially after having been so on edge the entire day.

"Definitely safer," Sulu responded with a smile - a smile that widened a bit as he caught Ianto's eye. He watched him move through the crowd, wanting from the moment he got near them to kiss him, but deciding that that possibly wasn't the best thing to do in the situation - if only for the fact that Gwen would probably be merciless if he did so.

"I know you weren't expecting me," he said with a grin, "That would be Gwen's fault. Besides, I wanted to make sure you hadn't shot anyone, or anything." He glanced over at Gwen, "You told him I was a surprise?"
