I went to a memorial yesterday afternoon. The person who had passed away was not someone I was all that close to, but we'd known each other for a few years and have a lot of friends in common. There's an election coming up in California November 8, and most people don't even seem to be aware. I did some outreach the past couple weekends at the Folsom Street Fair and the Castro Street Fair, and a lot of people didn't know about the state propositions. I'm really looking forward to this week's show at the Eagle, which is always a great venue for music. One of this week's performers is Chris Robison who released an out gay solo record in 1973. It's really a dream come true to finally see him perform.

Got back from the road trip to Los Angeles. The shows went well - we played probably the best we've ever played. The Thursday show unfortunately was underpopulated, but Bricktops was jam-packed on Friday night.

So word is from Vaginal Davis' Blog that the Parlour Club, the venue where Vag's weekly club Bricktops is held is closing.
