The past couple nights I haven't been staying up late on the computer... hopefully that binge is over. I need my daytime hours.
Wednesday night I had a meeting at the radio station in the East Bay. After the meeting the guy I was getting a ride from was hanging out and talking to someone else for like an hour. I spent most of the time playing the really nice Yamaha grand piano they have there, but eventually I got fed up and a little crabby and whined a warning that I get crabby when I'm hungry and tired, so we drove back and I got dropped off at home and went right to bed.
Last night I guess I wasn't in bed by midnight, but it wasn't due to computer stuff -- after I saw a comedy show, I went out to this club night. It's a pretty small bar that it's in, and it was really packed. It's mostly a gay night but it seemed like some straight hipsters. It was kind of a 20s and 30s crowd, kind of scruffy gay hipsters. People danced, the music was electro. For some reason, it seems like bears and chubs don't show up at these things. I guess the scene is very segmented. There were some of the bearded guys who are kind of cubby but it wasn't really doing it for me on the guy front. Anyway, there was a burlesque show act by two chubby women -- they did two different dances, one of which had a magic show theme, with one in a top hat and the other in bunny ears. Eventually they got down to being topless with tassles. Why can't guys do fun creative stuff like that sort of sexy performance?
Afterward I hung out and talked at the donut shop with my musical collaborator Jack, then I headed home by bus. Got to bed about 2 am. So much for reasonable bedtimes.
