Meh, IMO The Maltese Falcon still sucks. Boring, poorly acted, unrealistic characters and interaction, overhyped. Willow and I rented it expecting a really good movie, all we found is more evidence that most movies from that time period tend to suck. :(

I like most of your other choices, though, and there are quite a few on my "yes I mean to see that eventually" list.

And it's good to see you posting, I was just thinking last week that you rarely use your livejournal. :)

And I agree that compared to almost every other genre noir film is usually pretty stale, so my wording of "if you only see one noir film MF is arguably the one" was carefully chosen. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

At first I was confused because based on the preamble I was expecting more obscurity.

Of the movies you listed, I liked Snatch, The Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Rushmore, The Thin Man (and its sequels), Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, Ghostbusters, The Thing, and Amazon Women on the Moon.
