Russian team gets the boot.I know they are excited they won, but there is still a certain decorum a team has to maintain after a game, whether they are winners or losers. Also, those boys are underage, and drinking when you're under 21 is illegal in the U.S.

This kind of reminds me of the celebration from the Women's Canadian Hockey team at the 2010 Olympics, because critics were saying how their celebration was innapropriate (ex., drinking on the ice). While they were at least civil, they probably should have celebrated at their hotel rooms, but hey, at least they weren't on a plane causing a ruckus.

From what I have read, they never made it on the plane; it was for the night before and while they were boarding.

There is a chance the airplane staff overreacted, or the airplane wasn't well equipped. However, since I wasn't there it can be assumed that they acted in everyone's best interests, "erring on the side of caution," to ensure a safe flight for everyone. I wouldn't begrudge the Russian team of their well-deserved victory but I've never heard of an NHL team being grounded after a Stanley Cup win, have you?
