Let's not forget--80% of the world is facing an water crisis due to most of their fresh water being diverted to agriculture. And the amount of energy to convert the soy/whatever to ethanol is more than is yeilded at the end. (Including pumping water, harvesting, etc.) Gotta love people not paying attention.

The other craze that gets me is tallow--running vehicles off of grease from fast food friers--a resource that is already being utilized quite heavily. (You know companies pay the fast food business money to haul that away?)

The good thing is that in all the trying new stuff out, they might hit on something that really does benefit people as a whole instead of just one group over another.
