OOH. I had to reread the last line to get it. That's a brilliant transition. As always, this is full of inventions that seem to have walked straight out of the text, and the physical descriptions of people--"lemon haired and cinnamon skinned"--sound exactly how the jang would say it.

I'm cheering for these two to defy the system, yayyy!

Anyway, this was most excellent. I was practically breathless through most of it. Awesomely well done! (I have to say that I was especially impressed by the scene where she saw the very first duel, and the mention of the outfits worn then and the fashion now. Just amazingly realistic!)

It's about time. The one thing I was missing all the time I was reading those books was someone of an orientation I could identify with. I've often wondered whether the lost Four BII story concerned such things. Keep writing. Thank you.
