oh there's already definitive link between using cell phones and increase in seizures in epileptics. That is why i text! Much safer.

Skype has the best voice quality, honestly. No one else even comes close. Why does your father get mad about it? My family just accepts that when it says "unknown number" it's usually me. You _could_ get a Skypeout number, but I don't see how it's worth it. Maybe text your father before you call, so he knows it's you?

Google Voice is a good stopgap, but they still charge you if you want to talk to someone who isn't in the USA, and the call quality is a LOT worse compared to Skype.

(ETA: If your father has a decent PC connection, maybe look into Skype with each other?)

skype has good voice quality (undoubtedly :)
my father apparently gets a lot of calls from annoying telemarketers and random money-mooching long-lost relatives so he gets paranoid when he sees unknown numbner. I can't text him cuz it's long-distance. he lives in Italy and time-zone thing kinda makes coordinating skyping on computer inconvenient. I usually send him an email saying roughly when I'll call him (then forget about it lol and call him when I can ><)

will look into getting a skype number and pass him the bill grrrr
