Last night I had some anxieties come to a head that D. Decided he needed to pop. I didn't really want my bubble popped but we resist the things that can help us most, sometimes. Or I do. I resist everything ( Read more... )

I've been wondering about how to inspire my sister. She used to think of herself as an artist, but hit this wall somewhere where she decided she wasn't good enough. She is good enough, but I think she let people's (and her own) negativity get to her too much. My asshole dad told her she didn't have enough soul to be an artist, whatever that means. The only thing I can think to do, is try to create art with her. It might be fun to make something beautiful that doesn't get eaten.

I think that's part of the reason I liked baking so much for a while, because even if it was ugly, it was probably delicious and was going to get eaten anyway. It's less permanent art, IMO.

I can't eat the baking anymore though, and I have trouble pushing it on others, too so I kind of fell out of love with the idea of baking. I still like to bake and do so on my own with weird ingredients trying to make low-carb foods that are edible, but often aren't great, and they -never- keep.

I agree that you should do it with her, I need a push like that. I do fun and awesome things when the inspiration hits, it's just that I feel like it's kind of far between lately, and the projects I am working on, I'm not that excited about. Creativity is tough!

If you're interested, a couple of friends and I have craft night sometimes. We just kind of hang out and eat and work on whatever craft we have going. It's totally informal.

Did a crafty panty party recently (it was hilarious) and I made a really awesome pair of vagina panties. I was like 'I can totally do this creativity gig'

but I have to work on it more...
