I appreciate the thought - yet I must attend. There are bound to be speeches on my behalf, and I cannot stand to cause an uproar when I'm found to be missing.

That depends. What's in it for me if I go? You might be eager to mingle with stuffy old government officials, but my enthusiasm for it is rather... limited.

Not particularly, but you'll find most people don't invite those they seem to dislike.

Don't get any ideas. I like you far better than a large quantity of the families on the invitation list.

That, and it'd be nice to see a familiar face.
