- Your best bet for fancy dining is Fressen. http://www.fressenrestaurant.com/

Make reservavtions...the food is fabulous, and wonderfully presented. Service can be a bit slow. Yer mom's in from LA though, so I wouldn't worry.

- Less fancy dining, but larger portions and a nice combo between hippy and fancy is my personal fave, Vegetarian Haven. http://www.vegetarianhaven.com/ Try the cheesecake for dessert.

- Fresh is a trendy and yummy place that does almost entirely vegan and has three locations. http://www.juiceforlife.com/ The rice bowls are awesome.

- check out http://veg.ca for other listings. They do a breakdown by neighborhood etc...

OH!

M&B Yummy Ethiopian is frikkin amazing.

Seconded on all accounts, though I personally like the food much better at Veg. Haven than at Fressen.

totally.

Really, my favorite place to eat is Buddha's...but not so much for impressing the mom in from LA. :)

Fressen is your best bet, as others have said, in the pesto and sundried tomato range of things ( ... )

awesome thanks! im actually in buffalo for the time being, which is seriously lacking. i moved here from washington state, and between seattle and portland we had 2 vegan doughnut places and a vegan pirate restaurant among others. the best was vegan rastafari down the street from my house though. Luckily we cook a lot here. I'll have to write these places down. Thanks again!
