I know a bit about so much taken for granted for the future (I'm not talking about my recent thing, either), so I can relate.

I know platitudes can be fucking annoying, but I found some solace in considering that all happens for a reason, no matter what that reason is, and that as far as we are flung from where we thought we were supposed to be going in the first place, perhaps we're on the right track after all.

That makes total sense, and telling myself that is probably when I'm doing as well as I am now. I'm kind of just throwing myself into other things, like grad school and work to keep myself busy, and things are going very well in both areas. So I figure something must be going right. ^_^
