I hope you'll be writing a LOT more Riptide fics! (And I heard from andeincascade that you could *see* Nick/Murray. I really hope your Cody/Nick pairing that you're starting here works out, but just in case they don't and can stay friends...

And yes, I do definatly see Nick/Murray, but I'm having troubble playing their 'ship as more then "Nick can't have Cody, so he turns to Murray", and really, Murray deserves so much better then that. If he got Nick, he should get all of Nick, not just the bits Cody left behind. So no fic until I can sort that out in my head...unless you don't mind really angsty Murray fics about how "Now I have him, but not really, but I can't let go of what I do have..."

Hon, if you don't mind writing them, I TOTALLY wouldn't mind reading something like that. I adore Murray (gee, can you tell from my icons?), but I still love to beat up the poor boy anyway.

Oh, you so shouldn've said that. I have sick tendincy to put my most beloved (and hated) chractors though absoltue hell and only sometimes give them a happy ending. The only thing that prevents me from doing so in most fandoms I run in, is they're so small, everyone knows how to find me and hurt me.

Aw, that was a great read.

At first I wasn't sure I'd like it - I mean, it starts out with Nick and not!Cody and goes on to Cody and Nick arguing and pretty much breaking up. But then Murray appeared and made me squee. A lot. I love the breakfast conversation so much.

And I love the fact that it's not an easy ending. Cody doesn't break out the rainbow pants and body glitter and Nick doesn't just fall into Cody's arms and they make it like bunnies right there on the floor. There are doubts and uncertainties, and that kinda makes it more real, you know?

And actualy I have a second fic already for posting even now. Tinx and you inspired me to scribble out some Nick/Cody Boy Scouts Underage Porn last night. I fully blame the both of you. I just finished the Beta wtih Tinx on it this morning.

Actually, reading your fic made me go into my own folder of unfinished Riptide ficlets and I've been jotting down scenes and portions of dialogue all evening. Knowing me, I'll just end up with a few slightly longer and still unfinished ficlets, but at least it's progress.

I particularly like the scene in the salon when Cody's trying to persuade Nick not to leave. It's poignant and painful and Cody's forced to be honest and it's beautifully drawn.

I don't have a regular beta for Riptide yet. I didn't even know she knew riptide until I asked her if we could beta my DSSS Fic later because I was writing a Riptide fic, and she mentioned knowing catyah! I asked her to beta this one so it could be the prezzie for you. I totaly don't have a reglar for this fandom yet, if you don't mind? Since you know the cannon so well, and I'm still only a few eps into S2. I'd love to work with Ande again, too, she's a lovely beta, but I also know she's bussy. And as a rule, my Dyslexias so bad, I like to have multipul betas, because stuff will always sneek past just one.

And yah, this Cub Scouts AU is quickly expanding into a whole series of very porney stories. ::sighs:: Apparently Nick descovers he likes to bottom in the next one. ::sighs:: The Prom one is curently looking porn-free, so little brake there, though it may be a two-parter what with the 20 Year Reunion that wants to get written too. ::embarised facepalm::

(Your page title made me laugh, I read your explanation and it was great, I've had late-night conversations that turn into hard-to-explain inside jokes. But the reason I laughed was because of a story my friend told me: She was talking to her ex one day (they parted semi-amicably and share many friends, he's dating an older woman now) and he was complaining about this nightmare he had about being stalked by a mountain lion. She cracked up and said, Are you sure it wasn't a cougar?, He got all defensive and yelled It wasn't a cougar, it was a puma!) Perhaps I'm oversharing but I just had to tell you why your title always makes me smile.
