Gwen Dyer came to our school at the beginning of grade 12. his speech was really interesting. that was the only assembly i've attended so far - i skipped all the opening and grad ones

how are any assemblies mandatory?
they don't take attendance during the assembly, so when everyone's filing to the gym i just slip outside. then i go back to class when it's over
