Title: Just Hear me, Follow me
Rating: G
Summary: In some off the wall way, it was almost like Peter Pan's shadow had taken root inside his body and compelled him to not want to grow up.
Notes: No pairing. Just Jin-centric. I...was in a very odd mood when I wrote this, okay? :|

In some off the wall way, it was almost like Peter Pan's shadow had taken root inside his body and compelled him to not want to grow up.
He'd run off to Never Never Land and conquer Captain Hook with his own troop of Lost Boys. He'd be the King, no one could take his throne, he'd still be a boy free of responsibility.
He'd come back, he'd find his Wendy and whisk her away; he'd beg her to stay with him, stay by his side as the Queen, and his proposal would be too good, so she'd accept. The Lost Boys and the Lost Girl; they'd be a hell of a troop and no one could part them, not even Captain Hook.
Oly, it isn't that simple. Captain Hook isn't real, neither is Never Never Land. The Lost Boys are really his rat-tag team of dancers and there's no Wendy. He's burden with responsibility and a man and things aren't as simple as sprinkling Pixie dust and thinking happy thoughts.
There's sweat and tears poured into this, pain and happiness all swirled into one thing, and he wants to give up. He wants to go back, grovel and beg to be taken back. He can't do this, there's no way he can do this.
musn't let them see me cry --I'm fine, I'm fine--
His hands shake when he steps onto the stage, alone. It was easier back when there was a promise of going back, but now, its all on him. He can't fail. He can't.
He pours his being into it. He pours the past twelve years worth of training, everything that he's learned, in hopes of doing something amazing. In making his name known.
I'm ridin' solo
Later, when he's done, sitting in his hotel room on the last bit of adrenaline coursing through his veins, he wonders if this is the thing for him. This thing. Japan will always be his base, he's not lying about that. Can he make it through to the American audience?
there's no such thing as faith, trust, and pixie dust
It takes the whole tour for him to realize it. He's tired, the last concert's just ended, as per his past time, he stands just backstage, out of the light as he listens to the crowd's screams.
Then, things die down, and suddenly, there's singing. It's off key and there's stopping and starting, but he recognizes it. He recognizes the song, the words. His words, his hard work, his tears. All of that being projected at him.
He steps out on stage again, the bright lights burn his eyes and the cheers nearly deafening as he walks to the center, a strange feeling fills his body as he looks at the faces, different shapes, sizes, races, all here to see him.
It's then, that he realizes that, he may not be a Lost Boy, he may not be in Never Never Land and there's no Captain Hook to defeat, but he's content with that, with growing up, with being Jin Akanishi.
He can do this.
I'll live on together with you
With a beautiful smile and my head held high
I'll hold your hand, and we'll walk side by side
Such a future awaits us
Thank you for today
