I recently signed up for an on-line writing class. The continuing education department where I work has recently partnered with a company that offers low-cost basic on-line courses (in subject areas that we don’t cover in our programs). I'm trying to be more active now that I've graduated and spending a lot of time at home, but you're right...LJ just isn't the same place it used to be.

Congratulations on your new baby...I know she's probably not even that "new" anymore, but I think she was born sometime during my absence from LJ.

2. In terms of blog portals, I can enthusiastically endorse Wordpress. I sorta gave up on my personal journal over there, but I have a videogame journal over there as well, and I'm very happy with the experience I've had.

ha! i sort of just came back too.
i think a lot of writers are finally coming back. and that's definitely good. what's better is that maybe all of the not so serious people and drama folk will stay over on facebook and post their cat pix and nonstop fluff there instead of here.
LET'S TAKE IT BACK, i say!
