Gendry doesn't understand why Loras Tyrell always acts so weirdly around him.

Gendry can't say he likes the Knight of Flowers. He's a nice enough man and always treats Arya as well as he treats any other knight in Sansa's Queensguard. But Gendry always finds Loras Tyrell looking at him, studying him with eyes which dart away when Gendry notices it. At first he thinks it's snobbery; Loras Tyrell is the one of the Lord of Highgarden and may not approve of some lowly bastard keeping close council with the Starks. But it isn't judgment or disgust he sees in Loras's eyes. It's sadness and longing and a pain so acute, Gendry recognizes it as the same he once wore when Arya disappeared from the Brotherhood ( ... )

Okay, here I am, going along with all my Loras and Renly feels, and them WHAM, you smack me in the face with Gendry feels. HE ENTERED SANSA'S SERVICE BECAUSE IT WAS THE LAST TIE HE HAD TO ARYA. Argh. You're so rude.

No one ever speaks of her. There are no tales about her, no rumors or whispers, not like her cousins. Even her own father seems to forget she exists sometimes. But then, sometimes she thinks maybe he’d rather she didn’t. It’s something she’s learned to care about less over time, but she doesn’t think she’ll ever manage not to care at all ( ... )
