22nd Life Saved

Definitely glad I missed out on the gender reverse curse. I wonder though if there's a shapeshifting ability out there that could let me change what I look like at will. I can already turn invisible, but sometimes it would be helpful to look like someone else.

Is there anyone here who has done extensive research on how to get back home?

From everything I've gathered, it's less likely that you'll be pulled back the longer you've been here. Over three weeks seems to be the point where probability drops off and if it's over three months, it's likely you're stuck here for another six. Exceptions to this are brief interludes where one goes home 'for awhile', but they're almost always brought back here. That I left and stayed gone for awhile seems to be a bit of an anomaly.

There doesn't seem to be any 'reason' people go home. Usually they're in the middle of something mundane. People who are actively searching for a way out are less likely to go.

Do you want to leave, Peter?

I remember leaving and coming back at least once. Apparently I've done it before too. From what I can figure I've come, left, come back, left again, come back again, left a third time, and then I'm here now. The time lines are helpful though.

I know some people have been able to get home themselves.

All I know is that it's important that I get back home.

Why? Last time I came here, I was trying like hell to keep you from going to Pinehearst. You'd be safer here.

With wanting to get back home?

Not really. Just because I've... made friends here doesn't mean I want to stay here. I have important things to do back home.

Have you been remembering to take your prenatal vitamins?

Yes, she was chiding us, but it's not like she asked us before hand if we planned on staying here, she just assumed. I guess for a while though it was nice to not face everything back home.

No, it's probably not, but that doesn't mean I'm going to not try. And I still plan on going back and saving you if I remember.

Good. Are you still having trouble keeping things down? Sometimes eating small amounts every few hours helps.

Shapeshifting is within the realm of possibility in my world.

As for returning home, that's an interest of mine as well. Is there anything in particular motivating you?

I think that's one I'd like. Although at this point it's really just getting greedy.

I saw a vision of my dad, who I thought was dead. And he was doing something, I don't know what but I need to find out. And I know this sounds egocentric, but I'm destined for something big. I know I am.

A quest for power is a natural thing, I should think. All evolution is bent towards it. I wouldn't consider it greedy.

A vision? In a dream, or the fountain, or somewhere else?

Taking without need is greedy.

One of the curses showed people their future and I saw my dad. Since then I used one of my abilities to see the same thing.
