I'm curious if anyone has any insight on one's guide appearing as a doll? In about two dreams I've had, they were there, but me holding them as a plush animal doll. In the first I'm specifically picking one out from a selection of dolls, and the second I already have one in my arms ( Read more... )

Yeah, people disagree with guides / totems all the time.

However, on this specific matter, I will suggest that your guide may have it in the right this time. It's not healthy to be too invested in wanting to know exactly where something is heading; a) because it's not possible, b) because it's often healthier to let things go and be what they may, knowing that you can look after yourself and your life either way.

That's actually an interesting perspective. I can't help but feel contradictions though because my guide is all about reclaiming power, and then there's their meaning in which I just have to watch things happen as is ... *Sigh*

Dreams are very personal and to my understanding the only person that can interpret them is the person having the dream themself. However, here is my perspective on a possible interpretation. You are in the first dream "picking" a doll. First, thing that comes to my mind is you are making a choice. The doll could be a metaphor for some choice you are about to make. In the second dream you have the doll in your arms. You made your choice. Disagreements come from 2 different perspectives in conflict.
I've had disagreements in my dreams. It is usually because I'm stuggling with an issue and having difficulty resolving it. So true about letting things go and take of itself. Often times we want to control the outcome of every aspect of our future instead of letting nature unravel as it is destined. Being involved is one thing by making informed choices and good decisions for ourselves. However, we can't know exactly where it/life is heading and the final outcome. Who would want to anyway? How boring life would be.

As others have said, only you can really say what the dreams mean. But let me throw out some ideas to think about.

Dolls are "cuter" and "safer" than real animals. Maybe you (or your guides) are trying to present them in a more comfortable or friendly aspect.

Dolls are toys, maybe they want you to play more, or to play with them more. The Greenman told me that all play is sacred, for it allows you to become who you really are.

Possibly it is a warning, that you might be trivializing them or not taking them seriously. It depends on the tone of the dream and your relationship.

The doll is the notion in your head that totems are objectified to you. They are 'things/attributes', something you choose to take up, as an active choice, as others have said.

As far as arguing/disagreeing with my totem animal? Most of the time. It's often healthy debate that lets me arrive at an informed decision, rather than just going with my gut.
