You'll have to forgive me for getting behind on this. Normally I'm a lot more punctual when I meet someone for coffee. It's one of my rules, I don't tend to forget about things like that. [pours into two mugs some of his own blend--#119 this time, dark and bitter per always, but with a rich flavor that has a hint of--well

Once the coffee has been poured, he turns the mug and picks it up, setting it on his lap. ]
All your help has been appreciated, Mr. Armando. With the efforts of Mr. Sasha Nein, Lord Cain Hargreaves, we've gotten as far as we have-- [ A light shrug ]
I don't think there's been a single bit of investigation that's gone to waste.

I agree. But...hm. Do we have any suspects? [his mind trails back to Dahlia Hawthorne, of course, the poisoner he's most familiar with. He thinks a moment on her strategy--how underhanded it is alone to poison someone. He thinks about if someone were to poison someone here of all places, how would they try to get away with it? He doesn't particularly like getting into the mindset of someone like that, but...
This is the City. There are criminals with powers he doesn't want to fathom or imagine. If only things were as simple as they were back home.]
So, any details on any other victims? I can't imagine anyone having...something in particular against Mr. Gavin, but I don't know him well.

Many, but at least for the one that affected Gavin-- we're more than certain we can target it at a particular person, and world. No, we have, rather.
[ Lifting the mug, he takes a light sip. ]
Klavier Gavin's poisoning was unfortunate... but he was not the only innocent affected. I'm positive that he has not had contact with anyone in that world to have this be targeted at him in particular.
[ Looking up towards Godot, he continues. ]
This was an aimed taunt at the law enforcers here. A warning-- this isn't the work of one, but a collective group of people who wish to show their ability in this place. I don't even want to imagine the kind of sick minds who might have devised such a horrid plan, and how far they believe they can get away with it.
[ Clutching the mug a little tightly, he sighs. ]I know... this ( ... )

He's a prosecutor--though strictly on first impressions, he doesn't seem like he could make dangerous enemies here of all places, and as for anyone from home--well, you know. A taunt... [squeezes the mug in his hand a little tighter--he had a special spot in that dark and bitter heart of his reserved especially for criminals who liked to toy with things--lives--in order to raise them up, make themselves formidable.]
It all comes down to how long we let them. Heh--I think this city's ability to survive alone proves there are more good guys here than bad, but strength isn't in numbers here. Comes down to our heads and how we use them.
[sets down his now empty mug to pour himself another cup] And the ensnaring flavor of the law.
[a wave of the hand at that] Touchy subject or no, I can't rest easy knowing that there's good people having to go ( ... )
