Someone got the wrong description about what they were supposed to draw? Sounds insane. Maybe you ought to write to OSC and ask him. I hear he has a website and that he interacts with readers.
It's been bothering me for a while. At first I thought that maybe it would change, and there would be space travel and stuff, there are plenty more unexpected things happening in the book, but no. Absolutely zero space travel.
I wonder if this is a case of "recycled covers". I've heard that it's common practice in the SFF world to use an old cover for some completely different book if you don't want to spend the money on a cover artist.
Or maybe it's a clever clue about what's going to happen in the sequel?
I would have accepted the sequel thing, but from what I understand, there is no sequel, and this version is a reprint decades after the first, which means that a: They could afford to have a cover than fit the book, and B: They should bloody well know what it's about by then. Or so you'd think.
