So, about those Kor! There's a few things to note, and since I've already covered the canon explanation of Kor
here this post will serve as the run-down for just what's up with them in camp.
What IS a Kor?
For detailed explanation, see my other essay I've linked. For the short short version, Kor are malevolent spirits that try to steal souls and generally cause trouble in exchange for granting people wishes.
If they're spirits, can I still see them?
Sure! In canon, while the Kor are inherently spiritual beings and at times seem to go unnoticed/detected, at others there's definite instances of/references to people outside the church or random bystanders seeing them too. So basically however you want to play it. By default Kor are probably visible to some degree to most everyone, but if you'd rather have your character with the spiritual sensitivity of a rock be tempted by invisible voices in their head that works too.
Wishes?
Yes, wishes. Specifically, in 07-Ghost canon, the Kor attempt to tempt people into making a contract with them in exchange for the Kor granting them their three life's wishes. The more wishes granted, the more the individual is affected by the Kor, with the Kor obtaining their soul upon granting the third wish.
Obviously, this being camp, this won't necessarily have to be taken quite so literally! For example, the limitations on what wishes Kor can grant are still in place- they cannot, in canon, grant wishes that aren't one of a person's three wishes (though they can TRY), so in camp we'll be taking this to mean they can only grant wishes that could possibly be one of those wishes while playing it loose in regards to it actually having to be one of that person's wishes. This means that things like fame, fortune, a hot girlfriend, or anything else that a person could conceivably obtain in their natural lifetime are all fair game, while things like meeting with the dead are right out. Also, obviously, the Kor can't do anything that would break camp rules.
Similarly, the consequences of having a wish granted by a Kor are up to the person(s) involved. If you want to play it seriously and even go so far as souls being taken you can, but less serious or cracky consequences are also very much fair game. However, there will be consequences for a Kor granting a wish, it's just their nature is up to the player in question. The only exception is that anyone who makes a deal with a Kor has a
certain mark appear on their chest signifying that contract, but it can be removed by the bishops (or possibly even wear off like a camp status effect).
Can I fight back?
Yes! Though Kor lack physical bodies and thus can't generally be harmed by conventional attacks, anything of a spiritual nature can be used to affect them, and things that are "holy" or "light" in nature are especially effective. Holy water, blessings/holy wards, all forms of zaiphon (a spirit energy-based magic), and darkness-consuming things have all been shown to be effective against Kor and their kin in canon, so there's plenty of options. Also, Kor are canonically treated practically as cannon fodder by many of the main characters in the series, so they're totally fair game.
What's this I heard about 'Wars'...?
"Wars" is the term for the "evolved" form of a Kor- a Kor that has successfully obtained a soul and a physical body becomes the more powerful and dangerous Wars. Wars, while still inherently spiritual beings, ALSO have a physical body and thus are capable of attacking people directly. However, as obviously there's some complications in all this, we don't have any plans to have Wars to camp... at least for now.
Though as a sidenote, the term "Warsfeil" that gets used to describe some of the characters means a user of forbidden black zaiphon, a practice which includes obtaining control over the likes of Wars. Hence the name.
Aaaand I think that's about it! Any questions feel free to ask, of course.
