I've been on a pretty big L Word kick in the past couple of days. I'm not sure why, but it's definitely something to do that's not working or sleeping. Meanwhile, I've been trying to resolve my feelings on the show. While I'm so past being offended at televisual representation of socially marginalized groups just on the basis of representation,

yes. there are:
reginald veljohnson (star of 'family matters')
urban johnson (someone for whom a friend of mine once provided IT support)
navin r. johnson (steve martin's character in 'the jerk')
there appears to be a theme, here. but yes, marcus allenwood is a pretty black name. I bet his middle name is johnson.

and aunjanue ellis who played sistah girl in 'undercover brother'. and pootie tang, who is not real, but, you know. he has a black name.

Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat rookie, has got the correctly spelled Dwayne beat for days.
Also, we can't forget about Bokeem Woodbine.

also, i'm starting to get very into this season because my brain can no longer handle stimulation beyond passive consumption of entertainment, but i didn't like the way they handled the first episode. instead of extending on a lot of storylines from last season, they just wrapped everything up in a convenient little package and moved on. for example: "where's marina?" "you didn't hear?!? she tried to kill herself and has been shipped back from whence she came."

2. The new theme song and the entire intro is wack. It's worse than my least- favorite opening theme of all time (Sex and the City)
3. Shane, god bless her, is the sweetest piece of ass i have ever seen on tv. slurp.
4. if i have to see the tennis player and the bi girl make out some more, i am going to throw up.
5. i don't like the new guy on the show. i miss the old guy.
besides that, though, i like what they're doing with Bette and Tina's storylines; i think their casting (if not the dialogue) is pretty good, if only that the new dj is smokin' hot; and that it reminds me why i do not want to move to LA, even if it is a total stereotypical portrayal of the city.

The new guy is so fucking creepy? How the fuck do you let this dude become your roommate when he walks in with a video camera and is so obviously a sleazebag and a half? I imagine it has to do with being a superficial, vapid, and pasty waste of space, but i'm just speculating.
