"but you take a completely healthy animal, the diet is the ONLY thing that changes, and it suddenly becomes unhealthy, that's at least enough for a strong suspicion ( ... )

BTW, if you want, I can use my magical internet skills to see if I can find a deal somewhere on the cat food you like.

That would be awesome! I am about to try Amazon. They didn't have it last time I checked, but that was a while ago.

We were getting it from a place called PawsChoice. Good prices and free shipping. Which after a few years, put them out of business. And, well, shipping on cases of cat food costs a much as the cat food. And the local place costs almost as much as the shipped price from online places...

The price we WERE paying was for canned Eagle Pack brand (anything but duck, they hated that), and it was about $22 a case, free shipping for orders over $75.

Ok, wait, I am seeing it on Amazon for around $30 a case, so actually I'd be surprised if you could find anything cheaper. But... you always surprise me. LOL

Oh. Wait. Available at external website. No, no, Amazon, I need something that qualifies for Prime.

So far the best price I've found is for Eagle Pack's Holistic Select food, does that count? If you're willing to get the big cans, it works out to around $25/case when you use the code woof (20% off coupon for first time customers, so if you want to order again later... you'll need another email address or something LOL) plus free shipping. They advertise delivery within 2 days for most locations, not sure if that'd apply to you or not.

::HUG:: I will be thinking of you and your kitties. Just because he's lost weight doesn't mean something catastrophic; it very well could be Pixie stealing his food! You are doing the best you can by feeding them something you can afford; if they need to go back on the organic diet, you will work it out. I think it's a very good sign that he's active! Maybe he simply needs bigger portions. Anyway, you are doing the right thing by getting him checked out, and especially by using a vet you can trust ( ... )

Thank you. *HUGS* I know it's not true, but you know that voice echoing in my head is totally trying to convince me that you have a perfectly healthy active cat who suddenly just loses weight and drops dead in a week of nothing but "old ( ... )

Oh, I know that voice far too well. I convinced myself I've somehow had meningitis for years because I saw meningitis on the Under The Dome TV show. ::facepalm ( ... )

K vetoed me going to the vet and told me to stay and work (I wasn't dressed by the time he got here), so apparently I'll just be sitting here freaking out online until he gets back. :-p ( ... )
