[Kurt's still gone. It's been almost ten days. And they still have him.

And there's nothing she can do.

But it has got her thinking about someone else she hasn't seen in a while. And while she's far too proud to just out and out ask... there is some bait that she knows Gambit can't refuse. Her drawl's a bit thicker than normal for this part ( Read more... )

battle dooooome, just a southern girl, screw you too malnosso, sisters and brothers, she'd love those paranormals, painting the roses black, trashy romance love is canon, dorothy syndrome, addressing the masses, donuts are my new comfort food?, bait for swamp rats, out and about, being responsible? also sucks, being the oldest sucks

[On her way home, over head there is the familiar popping sound of Kurt BAMFing into existence on a roof above. But there is no grace or balance in his movements and it's almost as if he teleported in the middle of being tossed around, as he immediately stumbles. He trips and falls off the roof and before he hits the ground, he teleports again, a foot above the ground, where the rest of his fall is concludes quite painfully. He makes an attempt to push himself back up, but it's only a token effort and ends up back in the same position, in a puddle of mud and water.]

[Why wouldn't she be? That's just cold, Rogue. Very cold. Still, he'll answer. At least once he gets over that unusual sensation of being healed.]

I was kidnapped yesterday. [It was yesterday, right?] I tried to fight them off, but I ah... didn't do so good, yeah? When they brought me back, it was by the lake. [So he's haphazardly made his way back teleporting and tripping over a lot of stuff.]

[Memory loss is common. She knows this. But still. hearing it...]

Ya were kidnapped last week.

[No smiles here now. She didn't hear about that one, but then she's been preoccupied. So she'll glance up at Rogue for a moment blankly before she settles back a bit.] Just straighten your legs out for me for a second.

Last week? Really?

[Man, time sure flies when you're being experimented on by evil scientists in an unknown location with no memories of what happened. Go figure. At Nami's instructions, he straightens his legs out, as much as is comfortable anyway. He doesn't exactly have your standard human legs.]

Yeah. [She frowns, having some basic knowledge of what Nami's trying to do here.] That looks about right. His legs don't exactly go straight.

[For someone with blue fur, she kinda keeps forgetting you're built a little differently, Kurt-- and she hesitates now, if only because she wonders distractedly whether Nala's magic actually works on different physiology. Mind you, it's three whole seconds before she remembers she's also used this magic with Chopper. Yeah... okay, then. Not broken. Time to heal those too, then.]

If you don't remember it, I'd consider it a blessing.

[He's already feeling better and without the pain creeping on his mind, he's a little more lucid. Unfortunately the side effects of the drugs can't be magicked away and are still lingering. He doesn't make any comment about his crooked legs. He knows he's a weird one.]

Did I miss anything cool? [Priorities, he has them.]

Not really.

[She's not exactly Miss Giddy Gossip over here. And she's watching Nami rather carefully - not threateningly at all, but just... watching.]

[Hah, she'll just raise a thumb to his brow and run it over the cut there, sealing it closed again before just...resting a palm there and checking for fever. Not quite sure how to tackle the tail - it feels weird to ask if she can grab hold of that.] How are you feeling now?

[A little warmer than usual, but no cause for alarm. He'll sleep it off for sure.]

Better? Still pretty tired. What did you do? [He's aware of the concept of magic healing, but... this is the first time it's ever happened to him or he's even seen it done.]

Nala, right?

[She's been talking with the spirit in her off-hours, even though the spirit has seemed oddly... shy about her, Rogue still recognized Nala's touch.]

Yup. Nala. She's really sweet. [She settles back, wiping the blood residue on her fingers onto her jeans instead. Meh, not like they haven't seen worse.] Definitely a lifesaver around these parts.

If you're still loopy in the morning, probably better to see a real doctor, just in case. But I think you'll be okay.

[Physically, anyway. If it's mental, hardly anything a doctor can really do.]

[Oh, Nala. He knew Nala. He tried to listen to them once, but curiously enough the lead singer of Barenaked Ladies had been significantly louder and he spent an hour hanging upside down from a tree learning absolutely nothing of healing magic.]

I don't feel loopy. [Although there is that strange sensation that everything is moving much too slow, which makes him a little impatient.]

[Extremely dry tone:] Trust me. You're loopy.

[And when she turns to Nami, the relief is evident in the slump of her shoulders.] We really appreciate the help.

No problem. Need any help getting him home?
