We enjoyed our stroll through nature and stopped to take in the view next to this quaint man-made pond near a waterfall and a wooden bridge. ( Read more... )

Have you been to VanSaun Park in Paramus yet? They have the cutest little zoo there (only a couple bucks to get in) and a lot of neat areas to hang out. I totally want to have a ttd photo session there next spring.

Oh yes, we love going there every few months. It's a really good quality zoo for the cheap price.

The crazy praire dogs are my friends.

It was the birthday turtle, come to wish you 600 more years of wrinkly green goodness!

Kinda like Yoda, but with better grammar.

It was a week early... and from the look in its eye it was seriously considering a way to get us to come into the water where it would have the advantage.

They had a few turtles like this at the old Nocturne camp. Since the girl scouts fed them so much, we would see them come by the lakeside building and poke their heads out, much like this.

There were probably two or three living in the lake, but only one would surface at the time. We would call it Gamera. During one of our mass story posts, one of our Wardens rescued Gamera from the suddenly drained lake.
