Under ordinary circumstances, I would say something interesting here. However, as I don't yet know whether I have quite the right streak of exhibitionism for maintaining a public journal, and as I'm mostly here for the sake of commenting on other people's lives - dreadfully one-sided of me, I know - you instead get...well, nothing, really. But the ( Read more... )

I really have learned a lot about the people whose journals I read. I think it makes me more tolerant, understanding and sympathentic. I don't post my "inner-most" thoughts publicly. I have some entries that only a select few can read, and some only I can read. I find it very theraputic, and somewhat addictive. But that's me.

I have to admit I get kinda depressed when no one puts comments in my journal.

You seem to be going through a tumultuous period in your life -- or at least your LiveJournal reflects many of its tumultuous aspects (every life has them). I don't know you terribly well...at all...and I often feel a bit unqualified to comment on the deeply personal situations you describe in your journal. It's not like some persons' where it's all work stories and computer games and the latest movies, nice, "safe" topics. ;) Your journal entries are of such a nature that they point the reader only to comment on your life, not on your journal -- a risky proposition!

Case in point: The most comments I ever received on a single journal entry was when I asked for advice about good Westerns to buy on DVD. Some of the most heartfel tentries I posted received no comments at all. It's safe and easy to comment on the light stuff. Your journal is "balls to the wall" with chronicling your real life -- I say keep that up! The comments are only icing on a cake you enjoy for yourself anyhow.
