Having a Baaad Night

Just need to post this somewhere and get the shakes out of my system. Was coming home round 9pm tonight, got off the subway was on the street where I live when this guy grabs my pocket book strap (which is across me) he ripped my pocket book right off me, sending me crashing to the ground. Me too. Really peeved about the chili bowls and wishing I'd at least got a chance to throw one at the thug's head since they were broken anyway.

Perhaps being proactive about the experience will help alleviate the shakes?

In 1998 I was hit head on by a drunk driver. Divine intervention I survived the crash, but the event shook me up something fierce.
By participating in MADD, it helped me get through the jitters on getting back on the road.

Maybe taking a class in self defense would help you?
Participate in community crime watch?

Just some ideas.

I'm considering a self defense class. But it won't be until winter that I can afford it--especially not with my thesis class this fall.
