Oofuri is a fandom full of wonderful and productive artists - that's why I don't look at Oofuri fanart. It would discourage me.

Hmm, after massive encouragement I started with the manga first - tried to run away because the artstyle looked a bit, uhhh, sketchy... - but, yeah, in the end it got me. Hard.

Although it's a sports series it's incomparable to PoT, I guess. It's just very realistic. Some people like that, others... not. And no bishonen, ahahaha. They're a loveable bunch anyway.

Some jokes definitely come better across in the manga, too!

In short: Give it a second try! ♥

It's not that I didn't like it; it just didn't grab me so when I didn't have time for stuff due to school, etc. I just didn't bother. I think I was on episode 2 or 3.

My attention span is...not so good. Now that summer's coming up, perhaps I'll put it on the list. I had heard the manga was good stuff. Perhaps I'll use it to slog through this whole "I should learn Japanese" business.

Ich mag auch Aquarellfarben. Die gehen so schön leicht und schnell. Aber ich mag nicht, dass dann oft von Leuten kommt "Ah! So eine tolle Aquarellkoloration!", wenn ich weiß, dass da in dem Bild in anderen Bereichen ziemlich blöde Fehler drin sind. Oder ich unzufrieden, z.B. mit Gesichtern, bin. Bin ja froh, dass das bei dem Bild nicht ganz so schlimm scheint (ich war echt unsicher in Bezug auf den Zeichenstil und die Gesichter!) :/

OK. That Abe is stunning (Mihashi seems to be thinking along those lines). His mouth is the only thing that doesn't convince me. And I love the colors. This is gorgeous! I am glad you got your inspiration back, and no need to be descouraged by other people's art. Remember that everybody has different tastes ^__- Both the artists and the audience.

But you're right, it kinda disturbed me, too... I really need to practice them! Also eye forms, since I'm still not too confident with realistic drawing :/

Gnagh! But it's so difficult to come up with original ideas for Oofuri, because.. uh... there's Baseball and fields and arenas, and perhaps a school. Very limited. But yeah, I discovered, too, that when I look at fanart myself I don't mind it much if it's not the most incredible setting or idea ever, but someone draws the characters with an interesting expression, for example.

Have to keep that in mind for my own projects, too (which I currently delay again and again, because I always put too much pressure on myself... Interesting setting! Stunning detail! Creative composition! New colour combination and lightning! Storytelling! Grasping emotion!.....

...ahaha. I always get doomed by my own expectations .____.;)

Abe's ^^ But it was just the mouth. Yes, you don't need to stress so much about it. Oofuri has not many settings to offer, but you can just create them. After all, they attend school with regular clothes, not even uniform.
