As long as it's one theme a month it shouldn't kill you (hopefully!)
I guess I always take Mexican for granted because I'm American and it's so readily available there. But it's good that you went out there and found some! Mexican is a pretty good option. I found a Mexican place in Nagoya that has some excellent tacos, and when I went to Tokyo for winter vacation there was also a pretty good Mexican place. I don't remember seeing any up in Fukushima, though.
Good luck with finding someone who plays the koto. Have you been practicing at all since you went back?
I didn't really end up liking it all that much :( I think maybe it's cos of the beans (I hates them soo much), and even when I asked them to take out as much of it as possible it still didn't work out to my satisfaction. Guess I should stick with Thai...Sydney has some AMAZING Thai places :3
Weird! There are so many Mexican options without beans. I'm not huge into the refried beans myself but there are many other choices out there, I hope you don't give up on it completely. I don't know much about Thai food (>_<)
Trying new foods, trying to COOK new foods (I'm so awful it's hilarious), trying new graphics design techniques, finding new ways of saving money, trying new Japanese study techniques, etc...Little things really. But little things add up. ^_^

I've been trying to do a lot of new things too. Sometimes it's a little hard with my schedule, but I'm going for it too :D
