This is my absolute favorite pairing, and I'm beyond thrilled that you've written it. It's beautiful. The very first moment was strong and heady, and drew me right in, and after that, I couldn't stop reading. I've been having a lot of problems with Inception fic lately - it has interested or intrigued me, and I haven't really been able to finish anything. But not this. This was good, it was great. It took me along in one rush from beginning to end and totally dragged me under. You have such a beautiful way of writing. It's superficially simple, but says so, so much more than you would think at first.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to have read this, and I wanted to compliment you on the amazing job. ♥

Thank you so, so much! I love Ariadne/Mal, too, because it's so interesting and there's so much to explore. I'm glad you liked it!

This was a beautiful story, so lovingly and carefully told. I'm honestly bowled over: I don't read much Ariadne fic, but she was so incredibly in-character and sympathetic here that I couldn't help but love her and want her to be alright. That's all down to your writing, which is both delicate and direct, somehow, and makes for such an engrossing story. Even the little details - everyone picking up critters from Cobb, for instance - so carefully and lightly placed but so necessary.

Just.. thank you for writing this and sharing it. It was lovely :)

this is such a amazing, refreshing, and beautiful look at not only Ariadne and Mal, but also dreamsharing and everyone around them. and the deft way you handled the complexities of the subconscious -- so lovely. you give Ariadne a real and believable voice. this is definitely a story i want to keep close and re-read over and over. ♥

Thank you! One of my favorite things about Inception, as a fan, is how much more there is that we haven't seen in their world. I'm a writer who likes to haunt the dark places in a character's mind, and Inception is all about digging into those selfsame places, so I'm really drawn to the canon. I'm glad I can have the chance to explore and then share my exploration with readers who appreciate my work.

exactly -- and that's the conflict most authors face, i believe. how open canon is to multiple interpretations and creative exploration, and yet how difficult it is to turn mere glimpses of the characters into something more. i'm just incredibly glad that the film has inspired so many gifted writers to share their stories. :D

This is so interesting. I've read several stories with the same premise (Mal haunts Ariadne) and almost didn't read this because of it, but I'm glad I did, because the way you explore Ariadne's sexuality through dreaming is really original.

Thank you! I really only dabble in the fandom, so I don't usually know what's been written before and what hasn't (though I'd have nearly died to know I'd written a rehash of the same old thing!), but livelikejack's video was so clear and precise in the story it was telling; before I'd finished it, probably even within the first minute, I was already visualizing the scenes and the way I'd phrase the fic. I was so incredibly lucky to get my first choice, because really, none spoke to me as neatly.

I suppose it helps that I love exploring Ariadne as a character, of course. I have a thing for developing the "narrator", as it were, and she's so beautifully open to interpretation. She's the one the audience is supposed to learn with, and I love trying to figure out why she tells the story the way she does, what it means to her, and where she goes afterward.
