Why is there never a moment of peace at this school?

And why does everyone seem to think that the Astronomy Tower is a place to snog rather than a place to, oh, I don't know, observe the night sky?

I was beginning to wonder the same thing. I'm starting to get the feeling that there's some sort of drama going on that's leftover from last semester, and no one wants to rehash it to explain it to me.

C'est la vie.

Perhaps they need some incentive to... not be there?

Trust me; there's always drama at this school. It's really better not to discuss the finer details after it's cooled down, as some idiot is bound to start it up again in that situation.

I'm seriously considering how to keep these people away from the Astronomy tower -- what's worse is that when someone catches them, half of them just continue snogging.

Considering the sheer number of small, unused and discreet places it suggests a chronic lack of imagination to me. Or perhaps a desire for exhibitionism.

Perhaps, but it's still incredibly frustrating when I want to study the night sky.

I think it has something to do with packing large amount of teenagers into relativity close cohabitation with the opposite sex and then throwing a bit of competition and rivalry on top. But that may just be me.

I'm going to go with the teenagers in close quarters theory here as well. Some people fancy other people that they don't share a House with. Though I don't see why they can't get an unsed classroom, this school is lousy with them.

I think that you're probably right. It's bound to happen at any school, I suppose, let alone one like Hogwarts.

There are plenty of unused classrooms and only one astronomy tower; and it's not like I can get up into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw tower to study the night sky, which is why I attempt to make use of the astronomy tower. There are plenty of broom cupboards as well, but people rarely use those, either.
