interesting... as you were writing I was preparing for dinner with an old friend who opened a language school, Global English Academy. She told me that she and her partners treat their students like family.

A favorite holiday movie is 'Shop Around The Corner' from Budapest. Is Hungary now pessimistic? There are so many people, even here, who are handed a rose stem and see only the thorns, or worry about the thorns, or are pinched by the thorns yet hold a fragrant silky rose flower.

Look around you for joy and light, and there you will find a path out, maybe to come here for awhile, maybe to make your own place zing and sing.

Isn't it strange to be in such a place that's usually 'humming' and see it nearly empty? The spontaneous carol singing would be nice. I have to settle for singing the harmony to Xmas songs on the radio. Have a Wonderful Christmas!
