buying menhirs nobody wants.

So, Livia reeks like cigarettes. Which is not only infuriating because dammit, nicotine, but also because...she broke a promise to me. She's lying to me. I guessed she was having the odd one a bit back, but I could forgive her that. It's just...I thought she might just catch on that it was rather important to me.

Even so, I can't bring it up, because I really do not want to get into another argument over something, just when things are getting much better. It's pointless, and it's not like it does that much harm. Really. Much. I just don't like people thinking they can lie to me. Hide things from me. She's supposed to trust me, right? I wouldn't be so bothered if she'd just told me she quit quitting.

Why is it all of a sudden nobody really trusts me anymore? Or thinks I can't deal with the truth? You know, I could deal with the truth a lot bloody better if people didn't try to hide things from me, THEN decide to tell me. Ah well, at least I got all that resolved with Nick, if nothing else.

Talking of which, I have duties to do, do I not?! Hm, must ask him about that. Oh, and he's leaving. I'm not sure exactly what my reservations about that are. Whether I'm just scared about not having him at such close range any more, but that should be alright, I'll have Livia at close range. Or maybe I'm scared that it's part of a bigger trend of him drifting away from me. Which is possibly part of a bigger trend of me screwing up all the good stuff which happens to me. Or, maybe I'm just jealous that he can walk away from things so easily. Well, not easily, but without being terrified of what might go wrong.

Despite all that, I'm actually in quite a good mood. After all, I did have great fun with Mathieu and Livia last night. Cartoons on a giant napkin included. Mon Dieu, that kid is clever to say he can't even talk yet.

A few things, mainly positive. Firstly, when did you want to be indoctrinated into the great Catholic conspiracy? Because I have something for you.

Secondly, did I mention my son is a genius? Because it needs mentioning. He now can differentiate between Laurent the dinosaur and Angelo the bear. That takes skill, to know what sharp toothed creature you're looking at.

Thirdly, there's a hypothetical question, but it can wait a minute.

*sent in an envelope marked 'Crash Course in Asterix le Gaulois - Part one.'*

Feel free to colour in between the lines. I was tempted, but then remembered I actually DID have to teach this afternoon.

((sorry it's so huge, and if you can't read it, poke me.))

Children...or people in general. I am in a vaguely reminisecent mood, so I'm intrigued. What comics, magical or not, did you read as a kid? Or which ones did you like, anyway? I'm only curious, as I am slowly indoctrinating my family into the ways of Asterix. On the grounds of national pride...and jokes at the Romans' expense, sorry, love. Even though it didn't come out until I was 26...Even so, it was that good.

So, opinons, thoughts? Come on, let's all regress together.
