I decided what I'm going to be for Halloween: a sperm whale and a pot of petunias.  I know exactly how I want to go about making this costume and the materials I need, but I'd love a little help if anyone on my friends list is in my area and has some time

Alas, not in the area to help. I know what I'm going to be, too (provided I can get to the fabric store): pre-Hades Persephone. My friend is going to make it for me b/c I don't have my sewing machine here... and it will only take her two hours.

Foam for the tail and pectoral fins if I can get it. If not, gray felt doubled over and stuffed with pillows. A fez covered with brown fabric with fake flowers for the flowerpot (or maybe I'll cave and buy a hat if I find one). Other HHGG paraphernalia will apply if I can figure it out. :)
