Who: Mello, Nana, and Near
What: Mello sneaks out of her room to get away from Matt and runs into Nana. Near gains a playmate.
When: Early morning, during the storm plot on the 18th.
Where: Starts in Section 5, then makes it's way down to Near's room in Section 10.
Warnings: Near is potentially forced to share toys?

Mello quietly shut the door behind her, knowing Matt could come back at any minute and force her back into bed. She was shocked by how strong the guy was - mafia or no. But it just went to show that she had underestimated the guy when they were kids.
'I should have listened to him more. I shouldn't have underestimated him. If I had . . . maybe he wouldn't be . . . '
But she pushed the thoughts away. That was part of the reason she wanted space from Matt. He wasn't her Matt, but he was too much like him and it still hurt to look at him and see a face she'd buried herself. It was wrong to see this Matt and lapse into thinking of him as hers. He was a different person, the same as she wasn't his Mello or L's or Near's, but . . .
She needed a familiar face either way. Her scars were aching horribly from the rain outside the Tower and her head still hurt from the flu she'd had during the last couple weeks. She was fairly certain the concussion was healed by now. And she was too tired to try hunting for L as nice as it would be to just be around him again.
The blond made her way to the stairs, intending to grab some chocolate for herself and Near and maybe one or two toys for him on the way down (and claim they were lying on the ground when, really, it was just plain weird to see Near not playing with toys and she didn't know if he had any yet). Maybe some clothes that covered more, too. She didn't like wandering around in only a T-shirt and jeans.
