Kusaka-sensei worked quite long on illustrating the Orphen-novels (almost ten years, I believe?), so his style-development and -change is very visible when you have a look at illustrations from the first and from the last volumes (he colored Orphen's hair black at first, for instance) and at his very current works (illustrations for Black Blood Brothers). Actually, I like his 'newer' style more than the one he used in the older volumes ^^

PS: scan some stuff, onegai? ;o;v

I totaly agree!! I love the later Orphen Illustrations in the novels, theres this really cool one where Orphen seems to dodge a sword or foot (cannot tell lol) but its sooo fantastic lol

What does Kusaka-sensei use to colour the Orphen pictures? To mee looks like a mix of Copic marker's and water colour paint.

Also what would you like me to upload?? Some novel extracts or illustrations that dont appear in the 2 art books?

I read somewhere (I think in a review for Kuro no Seiki in a German manga-magazine...) that he uses oil paint, which to me seems to fit. He also does some Cel-styled PC-colorations, but only limited, as we can see in the artbooks.

Hm, actually both (but more concentrated on the illus, since my Japanese is quite limited xD; ), if you don't mind ^^
