Perhaps her boredom was about to be relieved! A nurse poked his head through the curtain and flashed a toothy smile at her as he entered, pulling a little rolling table with gauze, bandages and cleaning solution.

"Hi," he said cheerfully. "Here to change your bandages. How're you doing today?"

His crimson eyes had a bit of an odd intensity to them. He immediately recognized the wriggler as a descendent of his lusus, and that interested him.

She looked up when she was addressed, and was almost immediately filled with a sense of panic. Her bandages? But-- he was a troll. Or at least looked exactly like one. The way Karkat had mentioned Her Imperious Condescension, Kanaya had figured that there were other adult trolls in the Tower, but this was the first time she'd seen one.

That aside, if he was a troll, and saw her blood color, he might...

She swallowed, trying not to make her panic evident. "Um," she replied -- the picture of eloquence. "Worried," admitted Kanaya truthfully.

He saw the nervousness, but pretended not to, rummaging with the supplies and cutting some lengths of gauze. He understood the nervousness of any troll who was being tended to by another troll, and would feel nervous, himself. It was hard to admit to weakness to someone who didn't pity you.

"Nothing to worry about, Kanaya," he said, offering her another smile as he approached and reached for her hand. "I've got this weird policy of not hurting people, generally, and also specifically. So you're safe in my prongs, I promise."

Okay, it makes sense for a nurse to know her name. That's their job, right? She was just being paranoid.

She still looked nervous, but his words were enough to reassure her into letting him take her hand. Getting a closer look, he...sort of reminded her of Karkat. Hers, anyways. She wasn't sure if the alpha Karkat had the same horns. (Then again, Terezi and Vriska seemed to be about the same in appearance, so it was probably reasonable to assume the case would be the same for her moirail's doppelganger.)

"Okay," she agreed, for good measure. Well, if he was lying and did end up killing her (she'd have no chance against an adult troll, after all), at least the tower would resurrect her.

Kanaya, jade Kanaya that is, walks into the workshop with the intent of making some simple things for her friends here for this human holiday called Christmas. She wasn't really sure what she could make all of them that she could complete on time. Also on her mind is if they would still be around there, something horrible was surely about to happen soon, if she was correct about the pattern. Kanaya enters the workshop lost in thought so it takes her a few moments to realize that someone else is in here, let alone that it's her alternate self.

"Oh! Kanaya, hello," it feels odd addressing another with her name, but she figures she'll get used to it.

Red Kanaya has just started to cut out the pieces that will become her shirt when she hears what she can only describe as her own voice. At first she thinks, 'How strange, I didn't say anything,' and then wonders if maybe she's started hallucinating.

She turns, and-- wow. That's like looking in a mirror. Except her reflection is better dressed. She quickly comes to the conclusion that oh, this must be the other Kanaya she encountered on the network.

So, she gives a smile and greets courteously, "Hello. I was wondering when we would run across each other."

Kanaya sits down at a table with a piece of paper and a pencil, "It is peculiar that it took so long for us to meet face to face, but if we were to meet anywhere this would be the place," she pauses for a moment, "That is if you have the same interest in fashion that I do."

it isn't until right then that she looks at her alternate and what she's wearing, it's much more worn than what she has. Kanaya bites her lip a bit and hopes that she hasn't said anything to offend the other girl. That's not exactly how she would want meeting Red Kanaya to go.

"I concur that this is indeed a strange thing," agreed the candyblood. She adopts a thoughtful expression before amending, "Then again, the tower is very large, and I have been very preoccupied, for lack of a better word, since my arrival. So maybe it is not that strange after all."

Thankfully, Redkan doesn't seem offended. She gives a small smile. "I do indeed have a very vested interest in fashion," she begins, "However, my lifestyle did not often allow the luxury of sewing attire or designing outfits. I am concerned that I may be out of practice. I can't go on wearing this awful thing, though."

'This awful thing' meaning the white body suit, that is. Honestly, they couldn't have picked a more stylish (and less snug) kind of uniform dress?

Redglare doesn't have a real reason to be in the workshop, other than the fact that she likes to explore.

From afar, Kanaya resembles the other Kanaya quite a bit, and Redglare is familiar with that girl. So she approaches, calling a neutral (for she rarely does "friendly") "Hello again" as she does so.

Kanaya looks up from her scraps of cut fabric at the sound of a voice. She turns in her seat towards the source.

And blinks. An adult troll. She looks a lot like Terezi, actually. But Terezi is nowhere near fully grown yet, and not as...intimidating. The "again" is a little confusing, but-- oh, wait. This woman must have met the alpha Kanaya.

"Hello," she greets anyways, though after a moment she politely adds, "I think it would be the proper thing to do to warn you that I am likely not the Kanaya you are familiar with, if you are indeed acquainted with her."

"No? If not the Kanaya I know, you must be from, ah, another universe."

She's getting the hang of the lingo around here, slowly. Of course, she finds the concept interesting, so she'll hang around and investigate.

"Yes, I am from what could be considered as a doomed timeline," Kanaya affirms. She then shrinks a little, her tone lightly regretful. "That said, I am afraid I'm not quite sure who you are. I apologize for the confusion, but I would be glad to continue speaking with you if you don't mind."

Aradia was really only passing the workshop but at the glimpse of a familiar figure she couldn't help but pause. From here, she had no way of knowing which Kanaya this was but either way she wasn't too concerned - if it was her Kanaya then great, if not then at least her curiosity would be satisfied.

And whatever the case, Kanaya sewing wasn't a huge surprise.

She made her way further into the room, smiling even though she couldn't be seen yet. "What are you working on today, Kanaya?"

Kanaya didn't consider herself to be an extremely jumpy person -- not enough to jolt at the sound of a voice -- but considering whose voice that was, she had a right to be surprised. Kanaya wasn't sure of the last time she'd spoken to that petulant social cripple face to face, if she ever had.

She glanced over her shoulder, and sure enough, there was Aradia. This Aradia looked a lot different, though. The blue pigment that she was so proud of was absent from her face. And she was smiling. Her Aradia wouldn't smile unless she was going on a lowblood murdering spree with Captor, most likely.

The alpha Aradia, then? "I am working on expanding my wardrobe," she answered courteously. "Also, I do not think I am the Kanaya that you know. You are certainly not the Aradia I am reluctantly associated with, so I think it is safe to assume that the reverse is also true."

Aradia nodded. "I thought that might be the case. My Kanaya told me there was another version here...I'm guessing you must be her."

She ventured a little closer, trying to sneak a peek at what Kanaya was making. "My Kanaya likes to sew too. It seems you at least have that in common."

Kanaya smiled. "So she has spoken of me. It is very kind of her to make an effort to minimize confusion in that way." Despite there being little reason for them to dislike each other (Kanaya wasn't rude to people that weren't rude to her), she couldn't help but worry that the other Kanaya would feel strange around her or threatened by her presence. She didn't really want to step on anyone's toes just by existing. Nature had already taken care of that for her by giving her mutant blood.

"I think the two of us likely have much in common," stated the candyblood, working the scissors along a line that was to help form a sleeve. "We are both Kanayas, after all. But, at length, I have not had the chance to have an in-depth conversation with her."

She set aside the sleeve-shaped piece of fabric to move on to another cut. "However, the chance that we are different is also great. You seem to be much more personable than the Aradia of my timeline."

Romeo smiled as he saw Kanaya making clothes, he skipped over to her and smiled, "Hello Kanaya, what you making?" He peered pver her shoulder.

Kanaya stopped, blinking down at the child that approached her. He was a human child, from the looks of it, and not one she was acquainted with in her timeline. He must be a friend of the other Kanaya -- one that she had met in the tower.

"I am making a shirt," she answered with uncertainty. Informing other trolls of her nature wasn't so scary; many of them were well-versed in the concept of alternate universes and timelines. But she didn't know how this human might react to her. He might think she was trying to impersonate his friend.

"Um, if it is not too much trouble, I think I should inform you that I am not the Kanaya you are familiar with," she explained. "That is not to say that I am not a Kanaya, I am just fairly certain that I am not your Kanaya. I have only just arrived here recently."

"Oh," he frowned, "Sorry I thought you were other Kanaya," he had no idea how it could be that they looked the same and had the same name but were different people but it was far from the strangest thing he had experianced so he just smiled.

"I am Romeo, the other Kanaya likes making clothes as well!"

She gave him a smile following his response. "It's alright. I am sure that you will not be the last one to mistake me for her." In fact, she'd be surprised if anyone she met didn't mistake her for alpha Kanaya.

"You already know my name, so I guess it's pointless to say it. Regardless, it is nice to meet you, Romeo." She wasn't surprised to hear that her doppelganger shared that interest with her; she assumed that any other Kanaya was more likely to be similar to her than different from her. "That is something I expected. But I was also hoping that that was the case, so it's nice to hear."
