You must have been the daydreamer child in school. It is funny,,,,,I never really imagined myself in a fantasy....For me it was tuning out others,teachers,parents,friends.....I would hear the words...I JUST DIDNT CARE......
I find myself giving far more weight to imaginary characters I create and play scenarios out for in my head than many would think prudent as well. This might be one of the prerequisites for the furry fandom :P
It is a problem if you find your real world self in a declining situation financially and/or physically. And it is definitely a danger if you lose track of what really is real. Of course it's a cry for help if you're suggesting this is one of the few things keeping you from suicide... I don't know you very well but I strongly suggest (and hope) you seek out help. It doesn't need to be an intervention or anything, what you probably need is a stronger anchor in this world - greater socializing and a greater sense of control on your present and future paths. Perhaps you need to see things in this reality as a challenge to be overcome, what can you do to better yourself and prepare for the future with the limitations at hand.
Fantasy has its place but it should not be the only thing you have.
This is not good. While a fantasy escape is better than offing yourself, it seems you're spending all your time regretting and plotting how you wish you were living and not nearly enough time actually living, which makes it easy to maintain your state of existence or decline (as you mentioned). Perhaps you should be more communicative with those closest to you, and barring that, people like me that know you from a few years back.
I do attempt to discuss these things with my close friends, however the only thing they really offered was that I just need to learn to accept and be happy with the way things are in my life. Which...I'm sorry, I just can't do.
