Since my cover has been blown (thanx
prg, jk), here is Monday's Agenda:
Morning
1. Basic principles: Absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, time
course and pharmacokinetics, and dose-response relationships
2. Chemotherapy: Antimicrobials, antifungals, antimyobacterials,
antivirals, antineoplastics, and carcinogenicity and mutagenicity
3. Receptor Theory, receptor/cell interactions (cell signaling/signal
transduction), and cellular mechanisms of toxicity
Afternoon
4. Autonomic pharmacology
5. Drug abuse (stimulants, depressants, etc), nicotine, alcohol, and
neurotoxicology
word,
toxins
[Edit: How today went:
1. Tough question on drug calculations, maybe did alright. It threw everyone for a loop. Not a good way to start (No other choice).
2. General cancer methodology/assay question, hopefully I did alright (Other was antiviral and antibacterial).
3. General cell signalling question that seemed fairly simple. So I either aced it or completely missed the point and flunked it (the other was calcium signaling).
4. Adrenergic innervation on the heart and periphery and effects on HR, TPR, and BP. I think I did alright (the other was beta adrenergic agents).
5. Nicotine question, part of it I wasn't completely sure on but overall I hope I did alright (the other was methamphetamine and heroin abuse).]
