[Character Name] Road Kamelot
[Canon] D. Gray-Man
[Point Taken from Canon] End of Chapter 203
[Age] Road has matured a bit and I'd say looks more about 16 years old physically. She's still an old hag on the inside though.
[Gender] Female
[Sexual Orientation] Hetero, but now honestly I think she'd go either way if the Earl or Allen weren't there.
[Eye Color] Yellow
[Hair Color] Dark Indigo/Black
[Height] 148cm so just below 5'0"
[Other] Skin in her human form is a regular peach colour, but when she's in her Noah form, Road's skin has a sickly gray colour. When in Noah form, Road also has crosses that go across her forehead.
[Clothing] Usually seen in Lolita style clothing like
this.
[Background]
Not much is known about Road’s background before her awakening as a Noah as of yet. All we can know for sure though that she was the first Noah to have their memories awaken and she is nicknamed the oldest of all the Noah’s despite being only looking about 14 herself. Road is the one of the fourteen humans who inherited Noah’s genes and each also received a certain part of Noah’s memories; Road’s were Noah’s dreams.
The Noah’s can easily be distinguished from their human forms by their sickly gray looking skin colour in addition to seven crosses that go across their foreheads. Road is one of the few who choose to turn this off and blend in as a human every so often. It is later revealed that in her human form, Road is adopted by Cyril Kamelot, Tyki Mikk’s brother therefore making Road Tyki’s niece. Road is closest with the Earl out of all the Noah’s however because she is the oldest and also has the ability to manipulate Noah’s Ark.
Road makes her first appearance when she appears in the Rewinding Town to collect the innocence from it. Even though Allen and Lenalee has no trouble passing through the barrier, Road, being a Noah shouldn’t have normally been able to pass through the barrier that was made of Innocence. But because of her regeneration ability, she passed through the barrier without looking like her skin should have been completely burnt off. Road ends up capturing the Exorcists after locating the innocence hidden in Miranda’s clock and revealing that she is indeed a human although she was one completely different from regular boring ones. Road ends up retreating and promises that the next time they meet, they won’t be as lucky. Upon returning to the Earl, Road briefs him on what happened and is told to go find more innocence. One of the people Road ends up killing in combat is General Yeegar. She uses her movement of airspace ability and drives the General to go crazy at which point she ties him to a cross with his dead soldiers littered around his feet.
Later on the Ark, it is shown that Road is the only Noah who has the ability to program and drive the Ark besides the Earl himself. She later shows up with Tyki when Allen and his companions make it to the top of the Ark, giving a huge kiss to Allen upon his arrival. While Tyki battles with Allen, Road traps Chaoji and Lenalee in an isolated force field before challenging Lavi to a fight. Road didn’t waste much time or effort before throwing Lavi into a dream world created by her. There, she challenges Lavi to a game: If he can win her simple little game, she’ll let him go free. Road gets distracted briefly however during her fight with Lavi when Allen exorcises Tyki. She vows to demolish Lavi’s heart in return for Allen hurting her family member but is defeated when Lavi manages to stab her real self in her dream making sure that she could not regenerate.
After that, Road seemingly self-destructed after being charred to a crisp by Lavi’s fire seal before more damage could be done to her. Road was seen several months later with bleeding
cuts
on her cheek signalling that perhaps that stab that Lavi inflicted did a bit more damage than thought before.
And since I'm a lazy, lazy, mun, everything after chapter 184 is being put into a neat little
wiki. Long story short though? Road has been through quite a bit since her previous point in canon. It’s mostly had to do with going to gather the rest of her family who have been waking up and bringing them all together. Through this whole process, she’s been seen accompanying the Duke but in the form of a doll - a nod to her apparent ability to change her shape.
But basically, because I’m lazy and because there really is no other way to explain what Hoshino is doing right now to the Noah’s: Road is basically coming from a point in canon where all the Noah’s have gone through some sort of mind breakage because of the awakening of the 14th.
[Personality]
Despite looking as cute as button, has a sadistic streak a mile long. She won’t hesitate stabbing a candle in your eye if it’s going to give her entertainment and takes equal pleasure watching people suffer. This isn’t a biased choice on her part; Road will toy with anyone or anything which ranges from humans to Akuma.
She does seem to have a special hatred towards humans like the rest of the Noah family though. Road hates the human world and doesn’t see them anymore than useless beings for her to play with. She says she’s human but there’s a distinct line between who she is and who humans are in her mind. Despite this, Road develops a fondness for Allen and even goes to the point of greeting him with a hug and a kiss when he reaches the Ark. Tyki mentions that he hasn’t ever seen Road give that kind of affection to anyone but the Earl himself. Even though she does have a soft spot for Allen, Road is fiercely loyal to her family and those feelings overpowered the feelings she had for Allen when Tyki was almost exorcised by him.
Road has surprisingly enough become less of a little girl in her personality. Ever since the Seed of Destruction arc that has started, Road has in sense, become more of a young woman. Not only has she matured in appearance (she has some boobs now - what?) but also in maturity. Her relationship with Tyki has developed from a niece-uncle thing to more of a sister-brother relationship. Road is definitely more concerned for her family now than before and that’s affected a lot of her personality change. She’s become less impulsive although her sadistic side is still there, it just takes a bit more to coax out of her. There’s a distinctly darker feel to her character although knowing Road, she’d be more than happy to continue playing the part of a young girl.
She’s become more aware of her the Noah’s delicate position and what’s to come but doesn’t seem inclined to sharing with other members of her family.
[Specialties/Abilities]
Road is the Noah of Dreams. And this means that not only does she hold Noah’s dreams but also that her powers stem from her dreams as well. Road is able to meld her own dreams with reality, also lending to the fact that the Road we see isn’t actually the real Road. With her dreams powering her skills, Road can move from place to place without needing the Ark. Since the majority of Road's powers apply to the alteration of reality, it is also assumed that she can change her appearance at will as well. It's not something she does on a day to day basis, but it's revealed later on the series that she is able to turn into
doll form. As the manga progresses, it is shown that she grows more mature looking and this is probably lent to her abilities.
The Movement of Airspace - Being the Noah of Dreams, Road has the ability to move between locations at will without having to use the ark. This also means that Road is able to cast a dream world onto her victims making with the intention of breaking their minds and hearts. Road used this ability against General Yeegar which justifies the state he was in when the Dark Order found him. I’m guessing that the whole casting another dream world onto somebody else would be nullified because well…Road’s already dreaming.
There will be moments where her abilities will be spotty at best though and using them to her full extent will probably make her tired. No dream hopping or altering will be done unless there's permission from the mun.
Regeneration - Another skill that Road seems to favour is her regeneration skills. Nothing can hurt her because of this and she explains very plainly to Allen when he threw his Crown Clown at her. He couldn’t hurt her because the Road he saw, wasn’t her true form. This skill was also showed when Road was confronted with the barrier to the Rewinding Town which was made of Innocence. Innocence is the only thing that can hurt Road because her powers stem from dark matter too. The barrier gave her little trouble though; once passing through the barrier her skin regenerated shortly after arriving on the inside of the town. Her regeneration skills only work because Road’s true self is still situated in her dream world.
Telekinesis - In addition to the movement of airspace and regeneration skills, Road also has telekinesis. This skill only seems to work in Road’s dream worlds or places like Noah’s Ark where Road has some sort of jurisdiction over the area. When she can use it, Road usually favours using her signature sharp ended
candles
to threaten people or as weapons. For the sake of being in Somarium, Road will be able to use her door to go to places she's been to in Somarium. Her cottage will more or less be her 'domain' as well.
[Affection] Road is really only going to be hugging people like the Earl, Tykki or Allen. You're free to smother her with cuteness and she'd be more likely than not to play along with it just to amuse herself.
[Fighting] Since Road is actually in a dream world, her body is prone to being hurt and her regeneration skills will be unavaliable to her when she's here. She's not much of a fighter either even though she has her candles and what not. The way Road does fight though, is basically mind break her victim and tears them apart from the inside out. If you want to do anything, feel free to ping me! She won't be using any of her dream powers on anyone unless I get permission from the mun first, so don't worry about her altering any dreams at random.
[Other Facts] Road is actually able to change her appearance at will. Since she likes cute things though, her current appearance will more likely than not be the one that she takes on.
