Holy crap. If she's stuck, let me know, I will try and call my sister?

Aw, that's so sweet. Really, because she's an unaccompanied minor, they wouldn't release her to anyone other than the people specified on the Request for Carriage thingie we filled out. So she couldn't go w/ your sister. But the good news is that they're likely sending her on the next flight to Green Bay, which is only about 2 hours from my in-laws, and even though she'll likely get in at 11/midnight, she'll be in safe arms.

Her grandmother was near tears when I just talked to her. I think Ehlana's holding up better than either of us. ;o)

Phew, well at least she'll have a story to tell later? Poor kiddo!

We always call Northwest Northworst. Because they are.

*LAUGHS* I was going to note the Exact Same Thing about Northworst. Detroit being a hub, they used to be damn near unavoidable. And they SUCK.

Sorry you have to go through all this stress, girl...

*is boggled*

I was 15 the first time I had to travel as an unaccompanied minor with the airlines. For my connecting flight the airlines had someone meet me as I got off the plane and take me to the terminal that I needed to be at. My rather frantic and over protective mother was called and they let her know that I got on the connecting flight without any problems. This was in the summer with no inclement weather.

How can this airline do this? Thank goodness Ehlana has more sense than the airline does. I can't even imagine how rough this must be on you, to try to coordinate everything without any help from the airline.

You deserve a medal. Seriously.

i hope your kid got to her destination safe and sound. i'm surprised Northwest has been negligible about this. You better do more than a Nasty-gram for them. *nods*

Breathe deep and then exhale sloooooowly. there.

*hugs*

Good grief. Ehlana is a trouper. And you!

Oh my god NORTHWESTERN. That explains everything. Northwest Airlines is beyond the shadow of a doubt the most lackadaisical airline I've ever encountered. They don't even provide you with toll-free numbers -- any concerns you have must be placed via long-distance calls at your own expense. I think what I feel for them is actual hate. But so far as I know they're not actually unsafe, so I'm sure Ehlana will be okay. I'm so glad you have a destination and plan of action now. God that's harrowing. *sends hugs*
